PRACTICE

Sophomore & Junior teams will practice 4-5 nights a week, starting 8/3 until School starts and then move to 3 nights a week.  The Head Coach of each team will be in contact with regards to the practice schedule.

 

Senior Team practice - frequency and timing, will be determined by the number of double roster players.

 

Commonly Asked Questions:

What is the difference between Varsity and Junior Varsity?

-Varsity Teams are teams that compete for a league championship.
-JV Teams are instructional focused teams with no undue emphasis on winning. 

 

 

Are the Oxford Golden Bears a traveling organization?

 Yes. As a part of the Bert Bell Memorial Conference, the Golden Bears will play a regular season schedule consisting of 4 home games and 4 away games. Our away schedule will consist of games against various Delaware and Chester County Bert Bell Teams.

Physicals: Completed physical must be turned in to a Coach on or before the first practice. Physical forms can be found on the OGB website. 

 

Parking at Elk Ridge School:  In the back lot, the parking spaces in the front row are reserved for coaches.  Please do not park on the grass.  

Uniform Requirements:
• OGB to supply:  Game jersey and game pants (with integrated pads), helmet, chin strap, 1 mouth guard and shoulder pads. 
•  Player to supply:  Practice jersey, practice pants, cleats, athletic shorts or girdle with protective cup and socks. 

 

Team Placement

The coaches will determine the placement of players on Varsity and Junior Varsity teams in the first few weeks of the season.  

Field Rules:  We rent the fields and must follow League Rules (and/or School District Policies: 
• No smoking (or using tobacco products) or alcohol on the property.
•  No animals allowed.
•  No skateboarding.
•  No parking on the grass.
•  All trash must be thrown away before leaving the premises.   

 

Volunteers Needed:  As many of you know, OGB is a 100% volunteer-base organization. If possible, please volunteer in any way you can to help make this a great season.
